Admission Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from a CCNE, ACEN, or NLNAC accredited school
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Texas or compact state with multi-state privileges
- Current certification in Texas as an APRN
- GPA of "B" (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) or higher in previous graduate studies
- Completion of the following graduate-level courses with a grade of "B" or higher and a minimum of 3 semester credit hours each:
-Advanced Health Assessment (must include didactic and clinical)
-Advanced Pathophysiology
-Advanced Pharmacology
- Three professional references (submitted via NursingCAS)
- Interview and writing sample completed through Kira Talent (embedded within the NursingCAS application)
- Submit the non-refundable School of Nursing application fee (embedded within the NursingCAS application)
- Submit the NursingCAS application fee (paid when you submit your application)
Application and Fee
A completed application must be submitted before the application deadline. All fees are accessed through the NursingCAS application. The School of Nursing Application Fee is $45 and is non-refundable. The NursingCAS fee is separate and is .

Program Information
A Post-Graduate Certificate program is available for students who hold a master鈥檚 degree in nursing and desire a nurse practitioner specialization. Students may select from four areas of specialization:
- Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
- Family Nurse Practitioner
- Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
